This hands-on resource pairs oral sound-change practice with hands-on letter work using magnetic letters, letter tiles, or whiteboards.

How It Works:

✔️ Students look at the two picture clues on each card
✔️ Say each word aloud and identify how the sound has changed —
beginning, medial, or final position
✔️ Build or write the new word using magnetic letters, letter tiles,
or a whiteboard marker, connecting the sound change to its spelling

This two-step design gives you flexibility: use the cards alone as an
oral phoneme manipulation task (no print required), or extend into
phonics practice by having students encode each word with letters.

Over 120+ cards with three different types of cards are included. Choose from:

- cards with initial sound changing – cat > hat

- cards with medial sound changing – cat >> cut

- cards with final sound changing – cat >>> can

The number of arrows on each card also provides visual support – one arrow = beginning sound changing, two arrows = medial or middle sound, three arrows = final sound.
