Teaching Reading Comprehension Strategies - Visualising

This helpful pack of activities will make teaching the reading comprehension strategy visualising simple and engaging! Visualising is an important reading comprehension skill for young children to master as it helps them to understand what they are reading.

Use these five different hands-on activities to implicitly teach the skill of visualising to your students. With activities to introduce the concept of visualising and others to deepen their understanding of it's importance to their reading comprehension, your students will clearly understand the concept and how to best utilize it to improve their reading skills.

The main teaching points are highlighted (prior knowledge, unique perspective and experiences, building a more complete picture with more information) and activities focus on developing these concepts. A Visualising anchor chart/poster is also included.
